Sometimes, even the best basics need a little something — a detail, a contrast, a twist. If you’re anything like me, you have grand ideas of wearing beautifully bold colours during the summer… and then end up in the usual suspects: black, white, denim. The “I know what I’m doing” palette.
So lately, I’ve been thinking about ways I add interest, for those days when a plain outfit won’t cut it.

Belts are honestly the last thing I ever think about — it rarely even crosses my mind to wear one. But lately, I’ve seen so many beautifully styled looks that I’ve started adding them into my outfits. It’s such a small detail, but it can completely shift the energy of a look — suddenly everything feels more intentional.
And in my opinion? Dua Lipa is the queen of belts. She knows exactly how to use one to pull a look together without ever making it feel overdone. Over a dress, a leopard print and a simple black leather.

One of my favourite ways to add interest to a look? Metallic silver.
Not in a huge, extravagant way, more subtle and discreet. Whether it’s a pair of shoes, a bag, or even a bold buckle detail on a belt, silver has this effortless way of elevating an outfit. Think of it as a cheat code for your wardrobe: simple base, statement accent.
